My tanks consist of 2 tanks running on one common sump.
The large tank is a 225 gallon & the smaller one is a 50 gallon Anemone tank that houses a mean old Clown Fish & 6 line Wrasse. Both of these mean fish used to belong to a dear friend of mine that recently succumbed to cancer. I had this tank built just for these fish because I could never see them go to another home. “Art” the clownfish is one tough cookie, he survived a tank fire & no power for 3 days before being relocated to his new home. My sump consists of a Hurricone CAT 2 internal skimmer, this is the best skimmer that I have ever used to date. It pulls the nastiest gunk that I have ever seen come from a collection cup. My top off water is pumped through a kalkwasser stirrer before topping of my evaporated water, about 2.5 gallons a day.
Cooling is provided by an JBJ Arctica chiller that really keeps my water temp consistent.
My lighting consists of 3 250 watt MH bulbs & 2 180 watt VHO actinic bulbs. I also use Current USA Powerbrite LED’s for a little more pop. I use 15 K XM bulbs & I am really happy with them, the corals seem to pop nicely from this combination of bulbs. On the smaller tank I run a 150 HQI 20K bulb, the livestock seems to like this lighting as well.
Controlling is done with a Digital Aquatics ReefKeeper Elite, I can’t say enough about this controller, Amazing controller that gives me a piece of mind when I am away.
My livestock consists of over 30 different types of fish and over 100 different types of corals & inverts. It is a mixed reef of Softies along with SPS & LPS corals that I intend to redo once I can find the time!
